Electric Motor Maintenance and Repair Services

Since 2023, CEAR has successfully incorporated Rancan Elettrotecnica, a national reference point for electric motor maintenance, analysis, repair, and balancing services.

For our team, the electric motor repair process begins not when we receive the machine, but when you call us to report an efficiency issue. Our approach is focused on the proactive identification of the root cause of the failure to ensure a lasting solution that prevents recurring machine downtime.

Our Approach to Repair and Reliability

Our attention is paramount, from disassembly to the crucial electrical and mechanical inspections. Our team’s experience translates into a series of specific tests tailored to the machine type, ensuring that no potential cause of failure is missed during the diagnosis. The manner in which the failure occurred provides precise guidance on the measures necessary to guarantee optimal operation.

Often, for specific operational needs (such as humid environments, high temperatures, or inverter-fed motors), we customize the repair process. This involves equipping the electric machine with specialized electrical and mechanical modifications that significantly enhance its reliability.
For comprehensive verification, instrumental predictive analysis [Link to page] performed upon functional restart is essential. This analysis uncovers underlying plant inefficiencies that impact the electric motor, such as unbalance in other rotating components, misalignment, structural resonance issues, or inverter power supply malfunctions.

MANTEINANCE

Our Specialized Services

Predictive Analysis, Diagnostics, Repair and Mechanical Services

Vibration Predictive Analysis

Detection and diagnosis of mechanical problems to prevent unplanned machine downtime.

Thermographic Analysis

Using thermal imaging to identify overheating and electrical issues, mitigating the risk of critical failures.

Electric Windings

Execution of electrical windings specific to rotating machines (permanent magnets, standard, for high temperatures/inverters).

Machine Alignment

Identification and correction of shaft misalignments to minimize wear and energy consumption.

Rotating Equipment Balancing and Fan Balancing

Balancing of rotors and fans to eliminate vibrations, extending component lifespan and saving resources.

Shaft Remetalling

Restoration of worn mechanical parts (e.g., bearing seats) using thermal spray technology (metallization).

Te Work Stages of the Repair Process

1) Preliminary Analysis

Electrical and mechanical inspection.

2) Disassembly and Cleaning

Complete disassembly.
Cleaning and inspection of all mechanical parts (bearing seats, collector seat, etc.).
Winding cleaning via blowing and repeated washes with hot water and detergent.
Brush holder cleaning and inspection.

3) Thermal Treatment and Testing

Drying in a temperature-controlled ventilated oven.
Electrical tests on windings.

4) Repair and Rewinding

Removal and refitting of rotor and stator windings (standard, high-temperature, or for inverter/soft-start fed motors).
Winding impregnation in an autoclave (vacuum technique).
Winding drying in a temperature-controlled ventilated oven.
Winding tropicalization with insulating enamel.
Rectification and Mica Undercutting of lamellar and slip ring collectors.

4) Mechanical Repair and Parts

Rotor balancing.
Spare parts supply.
Remetalling of worn mechanical parts (bearing seats, couplings, mechanical seal seats, etc.).

5) Assembly and Final Testing

Electric machine assembly.
No-load functional testing (or on-load testing at our electric machine manufacturer clients).
Finishing and final painting.
